Perth Amboy Free Public Library Celebrates Young Authors' First Book Launch
Perth Amboy, NJ – December 14, 2024 – The Perth Amboy Free Public Library, in partnership with Janine Hernandez's Book Publishing Academy (BPA), celebrated the extraordinary achievements of four young local authors during a special book launch event held on Saturday, December 14. This inspiring event marked the culmination of a scholarship program that helped these talented young writers bring their books to life.
Harper Lyn, Esteisy Javier, Alana Crisco, and Arianis Rosa are the first recipients of the Perth Amboy Library’s partnership with BPA, and each author completed their debut novels as part of the scholarship program. These books, which are now available for purchase on Amazon, represent the hard work, dedication, and creativity of young voices in our community.
- Harper Lyn authored The Footprints of My Life
- Esteisy Javier wrote Exulansis
- Alana Crisco penned Garden of My Dreams
- Arianis Rosa created Strength in Shadows
The event, which took place at the Perth Amboy Free Public Library from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, was a momentous occasion for both the authors and the community. Attendees, including family members, friends, and patrons of the library, had the opportunity to hear from the young authors as they shared their inspiration, reading excerpts from their books, and answering thoughtful questions from the audience. The event was a powerful reminder of the incredible talent that exists within our local youth.
After their presentations, the authors participated in a book signing session, where they autographed their published works, which were available for sale at the event.
This collaboration between the Perth Amboy Free Public Library and Janine Hernandez’s Book Publishing Academy has been a resounding success. The event’s inspiring nature, the authors’ accomplishments, and the support of the community were the perfect culmination of the partnership.
In recognition of the success of this initiative, the Perth Amboy Library Board of Trustees has approved a new proposal to continue the partnership with Janine Hernandez’s Book Publishing Academy in 2025. The library is excited to continue offering opportunities for young aspiring writers to become published authors in the coming year.
“We are so proud of these young authors and excited to see how their voices will continue to shape the future of literature,” said the Library Board of Trustees. “This partnership has been a stepping stone for these young writers, and we look forward to supporting more local talent in the future.”
