Perth Amboy Library Announces Second Round of Book Publishing Academy Scholarships for Aspiring Young Authors
Perth Amboy, NJ – February 18, 2025 – Following the inspiring success of its inaugural Book Publishing Academy (BPA) scholarship program, the Perth Amboy Free Public Library is thrilled to announce the second round of the scholarship opportunity for local students to publish their first book. The library, in partnership with Janine Hernandez’s Book Publishing Academy, is offering two Perth Amboy students in grades 7-12 the chance to become published authors in 2025.
This exciting scholarship program will allow two talented young writers to complete the Young Writers Program, where they will receive the tools, guidance, and mentorship needed to write and publish their own book. By the end of the year, successful students will see their debut novel published and available for sale—just like last year’s incredible authors.
In 2024, the Perth Amboy Library partnered with BPA to launch the careers of four young writers:
- Harper Lyn, author of The Footprints of My Life
- Esteisy Javier, author of Exulansis
- Alana Crisco, author of Garden of My Dreams
- Arianis Rosa, author of Strength in Shadows
These young authors proudly celebrated their debut novels at a special book launch event at the Perth Amboy Library, where they shared excerpts from their books, answered questions from the audience, and participated in a lively book signing session. Their stories have already captured the hearts of readers, with their books available for purchase on Amazon.
“We are incredibly proud of the achievements of our first scholarship recipients and the amazing work they’ve created,” said the Library Board of Trustees. “The success of this program proves that Perth Amboy has some truly talented young writers, and we are thrilled to continue offering them the opportunity to publish their work.”
Applications for the 2025 scholarship are now open to all Perth Amboy students in grades 7-12 who are passionate about writing and eager to become published authors. This opportunity is an exciting chance for young writers to learn the ins and outs of the book publishing process and leave a lasting mark on the literary world.
