Authors
Perth Amboy, NJ – September 2, 2025 – The Book Publishing Academy, in collaboration with the Perth Amboy
Free Public Library, is proud to announce the 2nd Annual Young Writers Scholarship Celebration, taking
place Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 1:00–3:00 PM at the Perth Amboy Free Public Library.
This special event will honor Fernanda Castillo, Danny Gomez and Yasmeilly De Leon from Perth Amboy who

work, sign books, take photos with attendees, and receive special awards recognizing their talent and dedication.
“The courage and creativity these young authors bring to the page is inspiring,” said Janine Hernandez, Founder
of the Book Publishing Academy. “This celebration is not only about their books, but about showing our youth that
their stories and voices matter.”
Author Readings – Each of the three young writers will share excerpts from their published work.
Book Signing & Photos – Attendees will have the chance to meet the authors and take pictures.
Awards Ceremony – Honoring the achievements and hard work of this year’s scholarship recipients.
The Young Writers Scholarship Program empowers students in grades 7–12 to become published authors, providing
mentorship, creative workshops, and the opportunity to share their stories with the community. Last year’s inaugural
event was a resounding success, with students publishing their first anthology and gaining recognition for their
creativity and resilience.
This year’s celebration continues that tradition, highlighting the incredible impact of storytelling on young lives and
the Perth Amboy community.
