Perth Amboy Free Public Library’s 5th Annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration Unites the Community in Culture, Music, and Pride

Perth Amboy, NJ, October 7, 2025. The Perth Amboy Free Public Library proudly hosted its 5th Annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration, a vibrant and joyful community event that brought together residents, families, and local leaders to honor the richness and diversity of Hispanic culture.

Held at the library on Saturday, October 4, this year’s celebration was an extraordinary success, filled with music, dance, art, games, history, and family fun that reflected the spirit of unity and pride that defines the City of Perth Amboy.

Library Director Joel Rosa expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made the celebration possible, noting that “events like these remind us of how much stronger we are when we come together as a community. The energy, support, and joy shared here today is a true reflection of Perth Amboy’s heart.”

The Library extends its deepest appreciation to Mayor Helmin Caba and Mayor’s Aide Miguel Arocho for their leadership and enthusiastic participation, as well as to the Library Board of Trustees, the dedicated library staff, and the many volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the day memorable.

A special thank-you also goes out to the Perth Amboy Police Department, Fire Department, Department of Human Services, and Clean Communities Coordinator Joas Quiles for their continued partnership and support in ensuring a safe and successful event for all.

This year’s celebration was made possible through the generous sponsorship of:

  • Platinum Sponsor: Gonzalez, Tulio & Blache, LLC
  • Gold Sponsors: OceanFirst Bank and T&M Associates, Civil Engineering Firm USA

Their commitment to community engagement and cultural enrichment made this event possible, and the Library is deeply grateful for their continued partnership.

The afternoon featured a diverse lineup of performances, including Cuban pianist and vocalist Ariacne Trujillo, Argentine Tango dancers, poet Aldo Revilla, and Gio Accordion “La Sensación”, who brought the crowd to its feet with the rhythms of Dominican típico music. The festivities also included a Hispanic Art Exhibit showcasing works by Perth Amboy High School art students and a Hispanic History Exhibit honoring the contributions of the Hispanic community.

Local leaders and residents gathered alongside PADO Vice Chair Iris Rodríguez, Board of Education member Isaiah Gómez, and many others to celebrate the city’s vibrant cultural legacy.

The Perth Amboy Free Public Library remains committed to offering programs and events that enrich lives, celebrate diversity, and strengthen community bonds.
