Young Writers Scholarship Program
Welcome to the Young Writers Scholarship Program, an exciting opportunity presented by the Perth Amboy Free Public Library in partnership with Janine Hernandez’ Book Publishing Academy! This program is designed to empower young writers in our community by providing them with the resources and support they need to publish their own books.
About the Program:
Through a generous grant provided by the Book Publishing Academy, founded by Perth Amboy native Janine Hernandez, selected participants will receive a full scholarship valued at over $5,000. This scholarship includes access to comprehensive online courses covering the entire publishing process, as well as bonuses such as AI for writers, marketing guidance, and bi-weekly group coaching.
How to Apply:
The application process is free and open to all youth interested in pursuing their passion for writing. Applicants are required to fill out an application form and provide a brief explanation of why they believe they should win this scholarship.
Requirements:
Selected participants must be willing to commit to attending 2-4 virtual meetings to collaborate on their book projects. Additionally, participants must be dedicated to completing the editing and publishing process within the specified timelines.
Timeline:
Application Process: 1.5 months
Virtual Meetings: 2-4 meetings to decide on book titles and cover themes
Editing Process: 1 month
Publishing Process: 1 month
Selection Process:
After the application deadline, the selection committee will review all applications and choose a minimum of four participants to join the program. Selected participants will be notified of their acceptance and provided with further instructions for the program timeline.
